After years of planning and development Polaritas released its Split Time System for canoe-kayak races in 2017. The system detects the crossing boat automatically allowing laser-sharp split time measurement without any notable human intervention. Such innovation had its first and successful debuts during the 2017 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships at Racice and 2017 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup at Szeged.
Split time measurement is equally important during trainings, where athletes spend most of their time. Polaritas has also developed a training system to support the athletes in the following structure: 200m long, single-lane course equipped with the Automatic Starting System and the Split Time System measuring at 6 points, including the finish. Whilst one controls the system, the athletes continuously start and pass through the split time gates and the finish line. The central computer stores all data and automatically evaluates the results. It’s not difficult to see that the systematic use of such system allows the athletes to effectively track their progress in training.
